What You Need to Know About Rollovers

  • Started Oct 25, 2022 at 3:00 PM EDT

Let's talk about retirement account rollovers!

What is a rollover and should I do it?

If you've ever left a job, you might have an old 401k (or 403b, 457b, TSP, or SIMPLE IRA) floating around out there in the universe. Heck, you might even have an entire graveyard of these old accounts!

You know you need to do something about it, but you're not totally sure what.

This is the workshop for you!

In this workshop, Amanda will cover

  • What is a rollover?
  • A quick review of retirement accounts
  • Your options for rolling over old retirement accounts
  • The biggest thing people get wrong about rolling over accounts
  • How to conduct a rollover
Amanda strongly recommends you take her Investing 101 workshop first. You can't talk about rollovers without understanding retirement account taxation, and Investing 101 provides that essential foundation.

Meet your teacher!

Because I'm not just another #finfluencer!

Hi, I'm Amanda! You may know me as @dumpster.doggy on the internet.

My business is called Invested Development, and my aim is to make investing education accessible and fun. If you have felt left out of important conversations about money and investing, my work is for you!

After graduating with degrees in economics and communications, I went to work in investment management. I did this for about 6 and a half years. My primary role was called "investment counselor;" I was the person in direct communication with our high-net-worth clients, relaying portfolio strategy and answering all investing-related questions, on the spot, every day. To do this, I earned my Series 65 license, which is legally required for anyone acting as an investment adviser and providing recommendations.

But helping rich men get richer? Yeah, that was never going to be my life's calling. And now, with my business, Invested Development, I've taught over 20,000 students—mostly women—how to invest.

Can't make it live?

All good, you will receive a recording. But I strongly encourage you to show up. It is the best way to learn and ensure that the work gets done. Don't put off this invaluable life skill any longer!
