Rich Old Lady Book Summer Club

  • Course
  • 3 Lessons

Read along with me and your fellow Rich Old Ladies!

Let's read HOW TO BE A RICH OLD LADY together!

Because everything is more fun with friends.

It's also the best way to learn. This summer book club is designed to provide you with accountability, motivation, and a safe, fun place to ask your questions and talk about money with Amanda, the author.

Here's how it works:

Get your book by Sunday, June 14

Monday, June 15 — Begin reading the first half (follow the weekly reading schedule if you'd like!)

Monday, July 13 @ 8 pm ET — First half meeting

July 13 onward — Keep reading! Follow the schedule through the second half

Monday, August 10 @ 8 pm ET — Second half meeting

You need to talk about money

Women, femmes, and LGBTQ+ need places where we can discuss not just money, but strategies for safety and security in a world not designed for us. If you don't have that in your life, I would love to provide it for you! Come meet me and your new best RICH OLD LADY friends! And don't forget to bring your questions about the book!

When you sign up, here's what's included:

  • 8-week reading schedule & accountability tracker (PDF)

  • Zoom link for Book Club #1 on July 13

  • Zoom link for Book Club #2 on August 10

  • Video recordings of both Book Clubs (if you can't make it and want to watch the replay)

Book club meetings = gossip sessions

The July book club will focus on the first half of the book, and the August book club will focus on the second half. These super-fun meet-ups will be one part gossip sesh, one part Q&A. We will be sharing resources and celebrating progress. I would totally love for you to be at both, but you are also welcome to come to one or the other!

About How to Be a Rich Old Lady

Amanda Holden spent years working in investment management, where she saw exactly who gets access to the power, ease, and opportunity money can bring—and it wasn’t people like her friends. She also saw how the financial system is designed to feel exclusive and confusing, and how it blames individuals for economic problems they didn’t create. So, Amanda left her finance job to launch Invested Development, a financial education company where she has taught more than 25,000 students how to invest with radical clarity, accessibility, and joy.

Here, all her expertise is packed into a guide that won’t feel like getting cornered by a crypto bro. Instead, it reads like a text from your smartest friend: “Let’s figure out money, so we can stop thinking about money.” Because this practice isn’t just about planning for your wild and glorious future—it’s about the relief of knowing you’re doing everything you can right now.

How to Be a Rich Old Lady is a step-by-step road map to financial freedom. Not for the sake of chasing numbers in a spreadsheet, but to build a life that feels secure enough to dream into. Maybe your Rich Old Lady is wearing belly chains at the beach, tanned and wrinkly and totally unbothered. Maybe she’s befriending the birds at her cozy forest cabin. Maybe she’s leaving $500 tips on her diner coffee. Whatever your vision, this approachable guide to investing will help you build a plan to greet her with confidence and genuine hope for tomorrow.
